Arrowhead Winch engineers and manufactures industrial winch, hoist and drive systems under the BRADEN, CARCO and Gearmatic brand names in Broken Arrow and Okmulgee, Oklahoma. We are seeking a talented Human Resource Specialist to join our Okmulgee team. This position is 100% on-site in Okmulgee, Oklahoma hybrid or remote options are not allowed.

Human Resource Specialist Position Overview:

Coordinates and performs wide variety of Human Resources activities, requiring moderate degree of independent judgment and working under minimal supervision.

Human Resource Specialist Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the on-site HR contact for employees, supervisors, and managers; advise on policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Assist in conducting workplace investigations into misconduct, attendance, policy violations, and harassment complaints; document findings and support corrective action.
  • Support supervisors on progressive discipline, performance management, conflict resolution, and accountability.
  • Coordinate FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and short-term disability through the interactive process.
  • Act as liaison between employees and benefit providers; resolve enrollment and claims questions.
  • Perform a variety of human resource functions including but not limited to recruiting, employment, placement, new hire orientation including benefits orientation, and career development.
  • Partner with managers on performance improvement processes including training and guidance on performance management tools.
  • Generate and distribute shop personnel reviews to supervisors for employees’ annual merit review.
  • Administer hourly merit increases in accordance with salary administration protocols.
  • Generate and submit status transactions forms for merit increase, promotions, lateral moves, and shift changes.
  • Maintain employee suggestion program.
  • Audit and review weekly shop attendance data and generate counseling for supervisors.
  • Maintain HR desk procedures and recommend policy and process improvements.
  • Work with managers and supervisors to provide uniform interpretation and application of policies, practices and procedures.
  • Schedule and assist in the delivery of training on code of conduct, positive employee relations, drug and alcohol policy, leave, safety, and other HR related training topics.
  • Maintain training records in the learning management system (Percipio).
  • Administer, coordinate, participate, and/or assist with projects, some strategic in nature involving continuous improvement tools where applicable.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing recurring HR reports and metrics, including headcount, turnover, and absenteeism.
  • Assist in the reviewing of job descriptions and help evaluate FLSA exempt/non-exempt classification as needed.
  • Maintain employee records and personnel transactions in ADP; audit non-exempt wage scale entries.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in manufacturing or another hourly, multi-shift environment.
  • Organized self-starter with initiative, creativity and ability to influence.
  • Exceptional communication skills (interpersonal, written and presentation) and strong customer service orientation.
  • Working knowledge of HR laws, including FMLA, ADA, PWFA, FLSA, Title VII, and EEO requirements.
  • Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or similar program preferred
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • Experience with ADP, SAP or other similar HRIS
  • Preferred experience handling employee relations matters, including documentation and investigations.
  • Basic AI usage

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must remain in a stationary position (sit/stand) for extended periods.
  • Must operate a computer for extended periods.
  • Must have adequate vision for computer work and reviewing documents.
  • Must be physically capable of occasional bending, squatting, or stooping, extensive walking around a busy manufacturing facility.
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly for effective communication.
  • Must wear required PPE when in applicable areas.
