JOB DESCRIPTION for STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

Blessings International is a Christian 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry that provides medicine, medical supplies, and other products to short-term medical mission teams serving the indigent in the United States and developing nations, full-time clinics and hospitals in developing nations, disaster relief, charitable clinics and organizations serving the poor and underserved in the U.S., and other medical missionary needs, as well as Blessings own benevolent projects.

The Strategic Development Associate serves an important role in the overall operation of the ministry. The following is the minimum personnel requirements and expectations of job performances.

1. Christian

1.1 Membership in good standing of a Christian church. Consistently participates in worship services, participates in the Christian life and witness of the church and lives a Christian lifestyle.

1.2 Christian overseas missionary experience with some business and/or medical components is preferred.

1.3 Relates well to Board members, employees, customers, and vendors, as well as individuals from various Christian denominations with whom the organization interacts.

2. Education

2.1 Associate degree or equivalent in marketing, communications, business, or other related field preferred.

3. Business experience

3.1 At least one (1) year of experience in business or marketing, globally and locally.

3.2 Training and experience in computer usage including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook.

3.3 Excellent organizational skills.

3.4 Excellent communication skills/written & oral.

4. Reporting Relationships

4.1 The Strategic Development Associate reports to the Vice President of Strategic Development.

5. Strategic Development Associate Essential Functions:

5.1 Works collaboratively with the Vice President of Strategic Development and CEO on strategic development opportunities, marketing, communications and public relations.

5.2 Implements strategies promoting Blessings International in the US market among charitable clinics, pregnancy centers, and church congregations.

5.3 Implements strategies promoting Blessings International in the international market among mission hospitals and clinics.

5.4 Implements strategies promoting Blessings International in the area of animal health.

5.5 Collaborates with associations and alliances of charitable clinics, healthcare organizations, and animal health organizations.

5.6 Implements strategies promoting Blessings International to like-minded non-profit organizations.

5.7 Implements marketing and advertising campaigns in collaboration with the Vice President of Strategic Development.

5.8 Plans and organizes promotional presentations.

5.9 Prepares marketing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales and other pertinent data.

5.10 Plans and attends meetings and trade shows by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements, establishing contact; developing schedules and assignments.

5.11 Leads projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events.

5.12 Works collaboratively with the Vice President of Strategic Development and CEO to seek opportunities for and submit information for offers or bids for governments and non-governmental organizations in developing nations.

5.13 Works collaboratively with the Vice President of Strategic Development and CEO to seek opportunities for new lines of business that relate to Blessings International’s mission.

7. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

7.1 This is a full-time – in office position, and regular hours of work and days are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, this position may require long hours and weekend work. Business travel will be expected in this position.
