Location: 5220 Engineering Environmental
Pay Grade: A11
FLSA Status: Exempt
Under general supervision, assists in the acquisition of required right-of-way and properties, and coordinates the installation of private utilities, prior to the beginning of construction projects.
Essential Job Functions

- Identifies land parcels needed for city projects; reviews legal descriptions; contacts and meets with property owners; negotiates terms of acquisition; obtains required signatures; prepares parcel acquisition packages for review and approval by City Council.
- Coordinates with realty service companies to obtain advantageous acquisition of temporary construction easements, permanent utility easements, and permanent rights-of-way for city projects; reviews acquisition documents for adequacy, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.
- Reviews Architect-Engineer-Utilities drawings to ensure that right-of-way and utility issues are adequately and correctly identified; participates in periodic coordination meetings with representatives of public utilities, private utilities, and Architect-Engineers.
- Coordinates with the Legal Department on property acquisition and utility placement issues.
- Advises city personnel on technical issues involving design, construction contracts, and construction contract administration as right-of-way acquisition and utility locations affects them.
- Prepares status reports related to right-of-way purchases and utility impacts.
- Prepares fact sheets for agenda items relating to property acquisitions and utility relocations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Class D Oklahoma Driver's License.
Physical Requirements
Tasks involve the ability to exert minimal physical effort in sedentary work, typically involving some combination of balancing, feeling, handling, hearing, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
