ROLE: The role will fabricate, assemble, and repair aerospace components and subassemblies in accordance with approved designs and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal aircraft components and subassemblies per approved drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Operate fabrication equipment, including shears, brakes, presses, rollers, and hand/power tools.
- Perform inspections on fabricated components to verify conformance to dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
- Repair or modify sheet metal parts in compliance with design approvals and FAA regulations.
- Utilize precision tools to perform structural repairs and modifications to exacting standards in accordance with provided technical data.
- Utilize mechanical and hand blending techniques of major structural components using high speed grinders, sanding blocks, DA sanders, and similar tools.
- Prepare part surfaces prior to coating/painting using mechanical stripping and/or sand applications on parts.
- Document all work performed in accordance with customer requirements and internal quality management procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers, inspectors, and production teams to troubleshoot fabrication issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
