Our client, a leading educational institution, is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor to join their team. As a Financial Aid Advisor, you will be part of the Student Services department supporting students in navigating their financial aid journey. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and a passion for helping students succeed, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Financial Aid Advisor

Location: Columbia, SC

Pay Range: $20.23

What's the Job?

  • Conduct initial overview sessions with students to explain the financial aid process and assist with FAFSA form completion.
  • Review and assess student financing needs, ensuring eligibility for Title IV funding.
  • Provide counseling on financial aid options, including grants, scholarships, and veterans' benefits.
  • Create cost estimates and review them with students to ensure understanding of financial commitments.
  • Coordinate with admissions and academic departments to keep students engaged and on track for funding.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively assist students.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess financial aid eligibility and needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments to support student success.
  • Detail-oriented approach to ensure accurate processing of financial aid documentation.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to financial aid processes.
