SMD Repair Technician

Pay: $23–$30/hr (DOE)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Manual Soldering and Rework Technician to perform precision manual desoldering and soldering of surface-mount components (0805 size) on electronic assemblies. This is a repair-focused role requiring strong attention to detail, excellent soldering technique, and the ability to work independently.

What You’ll Do

• Perform manual rework and repair of SMD components on PCBs
• Remove and replace 0805 components using hand soldering techniques
• Inspect completed work for quality, ensuring proper solder joints and functionality
• Work from repair tickets, schematics, and inspection notes
• Maintain documentation and keep accurate repair records
• Support quality and production teams to meet turnaround goals

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience with manual SMD soldering and desoldering (0805 required)
• Strong hand-eye coordination and steady hands
• Ability to work under microscope/ magnification tools
• Familiarity with PCB handling and ESD-safe practices
• Comfortable working in a repair environment with tight tolerances
