General Statement of Duties: Responsible for maintaining and operating swimming pools; performs related work as needed.

Role Overview: Under general supervision, the incumbent handles maintenance and operation duties for swimming pools. They prioritize tasks, solve maintenance issues, direct crews, and work alongside them to resolve problems.

Examples of Work:

· Conducts weekly inspections of water readings, filters, pump valves, tanks, gauges, and vents.

· Utilizes route schedule software.

· Maintains pumps and motors at all pool facilities.

· Performs repair work in and around pools, filter room, chlorine room, or on pool decks.

· Supervises and participates in emergency repairs.

· Vacuums pools and brushes surfaces

· Visually inspects diving boards, ladders, starting blocks, guard chairs.

· Tests emergency lights in pool areas

· Check underwater pool lights.

· Tests ground fault interrupters.

· Orders and receives supplies such as chlorine and muriatic acid.

· Greases water circulating pumps, filter pumps, and air blower units.

· Seasonally cleans and drains pools; winterizes pools; drains water lines.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attributes:

Thorough understanding of the machinery, tools, chemicals, and terminology necessary for the operation of aqua recreational systems. Good knowledge of pipe flows, pressures, and equipment capacities. Competence in performing installation and maintenance tasks. Ability to exercise sound judgment in directing and participating in emergency repairs. Capability to follow both oral and written instructions. Effective communication skills. Suitable physical condition for the job requirements.
