JOB SUMMARY/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT:

Responsible for conducting and documenting dimensional and performance inspections on components and assemblies to verify product conformance. Identifies non‑conforming product, notifies appropriate personnel, and supports the resolution and disposition process. Maintains all inspection and test equipment to ensure proper calibration and reliable operation.

This role has significant organizational impact through problem solving and decision making. It requires resolving discrepancies, addressing process issues, and interpreting procedures involving multiple variables. A high level of technical proficiency is essential to ensure accurate assessments.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Inspect molded parts and assemblies using a range of precision measurement and test equipment, including optical systems, CMMs, calipers, micrometers, durometers, and various performance-testing tools.
2. Maintain inspection documentation to record measured dimensions for component part disposition and long-term record retention.
3. Perform routine calibration of inspection and test equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with established standards. Document calibration results, identify out‑of‑tolerance conditions, and coordinate necessary adjustments or repairs to maintain proper equipment performance.
4. Collect and accurately record measurement data required for GRR studies, capability analyses, and other statistical evaluations. Ensure proper sampling methods, consistent measurement techniques, and reliable data integrity to support process validation, continuous improvement initiatives, and data‑driven decision‑making.
5. Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and Skill

    • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central, DocuWare, and IntellaQuest preferred.
    • Strong communication skills. Must be able to communicate issues clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Must be organized and detail-oriented.
    • Must possess knowledge of inspection measuring instruments, blueprint reading and interpretation, and basic math skills; and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Required Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 3 years of related experience
  • 1 to 2 years CMM Experience

SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS:

  • Some travel may be required for training purposes on inspection and test measuring equipment.
