Compensation: Based on experience and qualifications
Role Responsibilities
Planning, Food Preparation & Kitchen Operations
• Plan, prepare, and serve nutritionally balanced meals and snacks that meet state nutritional requirements and CACFP guidelines
• Follow approved menus and make substitutions only as directed by center leadership
• Maintain accurate food production records, meal counts, and required documentation
• Monitor daily attendance to prepare appropriate food quantities
• Track and communicate food allergies and dietary restrictions to classroom staff
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and inventory procedures
• Assist with ordering food and kitchen supplies within center budget guidelines
• Ensure food is served at appropriate temperatures using classroom-safe serving containers

Safety & Sanitation
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures in accordance with health department and Oklahoma DHS licensing requirements
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment at all times
• Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, and food preparation surfaces using approved methods
• Clean kitchen appliances, refrigerators, shelves, counters, and food storage areas regularly
• Properly manage trash disposal and sanitation procedures
• Understand and follow emergency procedures related to kitchen safety
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment at all times

Team Support & Center Operations
• Collaborate with center leadership and teaching staff to support smooth daily operations
• Maintain a professional, positive attitude with children, families, and team members
• Assist with food shopping as needed
• Serve as ratio-qualified float support when needed, including assisting with teacher break coverage and providing classroom supervision in accordance with state licensing requirements
• Support classroom routines and transitions during high-need periods
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support overall center priorities
• Maintain a professional, positive attitude with children, families, and team members
• Assist with food shopping as needed
• Serve as ratio-qualified float support when needed, including assisting with teacher break coverage and providing classroom supervision in accordance with state licensing requirements
• Support classroom routines and transitions during high-need periods
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support overall center priorities
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience in food preparation, childcare center kitchen, school cafeteria, or similar environment preferred
• Food Handler Permit (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
• Ability to meet Oklahoma DHS licensing and health department requirements
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs
• Ability to stand, move, and work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods
• Experience in food preparation, childcare center kitchen, school cafeteria, or similar environment preferred
• Food Handler Permit (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
• Ability to meet Oklahoma DHS licensing and health department requirements
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs
• Ability to stand, move, and work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods
